Abstract

The Sierras Pampeanas of Cordoba (Argentina) constitute part of the morphostructural eastern Sierras Pampeanas. The planation surface is preserved at different elevations of the mountain. Fault escarpments that displace the surface are recognized. There is no evidence of pediplanation at the base of the profound weathering profile (saprolite). A planation surface (peneplain) formed during the Paleozoic, shows evidence of tectonic movements that affected the Sierras at the Miocene and Plio-Pleistocene.
