Characteristics of a shallow epithermal mineralization in the Deseado Massif, Patagonia

Abstract
In this contribution we present the principal characteristics of an area with epithermal mineralization located near Estancias San Pedro and La Evelina, in the central portion of the Deseado Massif. These mineral concentrations, constituted by quartz veins and veinlets, and with high amounts of Mn, Fe, Sb, Tl, Hg y As, represent an ore type withonly a few precedents in this geological province. The geochemical, microthermometrical, stables isotopes and mineralogical studies revealed for these deposits a structurally high position inside the epithermal system.
