Abstract

A 60 km long N-NE alignment of relative positive Bouguer gravimetric anomalies (mass excess) has been recognized between the locality San Francisco del Monte de Oro in San Luis Province and the northern part of Sierra of Ulapes-Las Minas in La Rioja Province. In this belt the magnetic anomalies have magnitude similar to those measured on the amphibolite outcrops in the Sierrade Socoscora. Another gravimetric maximum appear between Villa General Roca and Sierra de Las Minas, which display weak magnetic anomalies (almost cero) in agreement with the magnetic susceptibility values obtained on granites, milonitesand gneissic outcrops from Sierras of Las Minas, Ulapes and Socoscora. There isan excellent correlationship between the relative positive Bouguer gravimetric anomaly in the NE of Ulapes locality and a known (Devonic?) structure with associated hydrothermal alteration.
